Recently, controversy arose over allegations that a former deputy director of an agency linked to the National Intelligence Service had used the office for private purposes, such as having a drink in the office while on the job.
The police, who received an investigation request from the National Intelligence Service last month, began a mandatory investigation into this case.

Suspicions have been raised that part of the office was used privately for one year and two months from October 2020.
The National Intelligence Service, which began an investigation into the truth, caught the suspicion that Cho embezzling 1 billion won and asked the police to investigate.
A week after reporting the incident, the police launched a mandatory investigation.
Cho’s home and the Office of the National Security Strategy Institute were seized and searched one after the other.
The Research Institute is an agency associated with the National Intelligence Service that carries out research requested by the National Intelligence Service with budget support from the National Intelligence Service.
He is responsible for comprehensive diplomacy and security research and analysis, including Korean Peninsula strategy, diplomatic strategy, and security strategy.
Cho is not an expert from the National Intelligence Service or an investigator, but it is known that he was given a special job while in charge of administrative affairs in Moon Jae-in’s presidential campaign, which he quit in June.
