[단독] ‘Introducing the F-35 in addition, cuts the budget for helicopters for execution operations’ ‥ Reinforcement of three axes?

◀ anchor ▶

This time, we will continue with MBC’s exclusive report.

South Korea’s independent military plan to increase power to deter North Korean nuclear and missile launches is known as the ‘three-axis system’.

First, ‘Kill Chain’ detects signs of North Korean provocation in advance and strikes pre-emptively; It is ‘mass punitive retaliation’ that removes the ability.

President Yoon Seok-yeol has repeatedly stated that he will strengthen this ‘three axis system’ since his candidacy.

However, as a result of MBC’s comment, it was confirmed that the budget for new projects needed for the ‘three-axis system’ had not been reflected in next year’s defense budget, or even 1 won.

A significant setback in terms of power consolidation is expected, and reporter Jeong Dong-hoon exclusively mentioned why this happened.

About 40 F-35As prepare for takeoff in dense formation with their maximum weapons loaded.

The F-35A state-of-the-art stealth fighter is a key force in the so-called kill chain, which detects signs of North Korean provocation in advance and strikes pre-emptively.

In July, two months after the inauguration of the Yun Seok-Yeol government, the Ministry of National Defense made a sudden decision to deliver 20 additional F-35A units.

I would like to say, “We must dramatically strengthen our ability to respond to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats.” It’s a three-axis system.”

However, it was confirmed that the budget for the F-35A was not reflected in the budget for next year presented to the National Assembly by the Ministry of National Defence.

The project is inevitably delayed because investigations cannot be carried out to proceed with the delivery process.

Among the budgets related to the three axes in response to North Korea, such as a killing chain, it was confirmed that this was not the only thing that was not organized as an internal document of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

The special operations helicopter UH-60, which will be responsible for transporting special forces in the so-called ‘execution operation’ that neutralizes the leadership of the enemy, was not organized, and the large attack helicopter project was not organized.

In particular, the budget for new projects such as new weapons, which the government was trying to promote in order to move the three-axis system forward, was omitted.

The establishment of North Korea’s new ballistic missile defense system, the purchase of long-range interceptor missiles for Aegis ships, and the introduction of a new 230mm multiple rocket launcher have made it inevitable that business will be disrupted.

The cut in the budget for the new triaxial system is due to the policy of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

Projects for which the feasibility study was not completed were cut in batches, without exception, in the defense sector, and the Ministry of National Defense was not prepared.

The budget for the three axis system next year is 5.2 trillion won.

The total has increased compared to the previous one, but if it continues at this rate, it will be mainly carried out on previously decided weapons or medium / long term projects without new projects, which’ n far from the promise of the new government to increase power.

“The budget for the new business did not reflect a single penny. It is doubtful whether the three axis system was strengthened only by word of mouth.”

In response, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration said it would make an effort to reflect it in the future parliamentary discussion.
