Russian Kremlin spokeswoman Dmitry Peskov said on the 28th about the progress of the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, Sputnik news agency reported.

Regarding the fifth peace talks between the two countries to be held in Turkey, Peskov said, “So far, there have been no achievements or breakthroughs on important issues. will,” he said.

The two sides are scheduled to hold their fifth peace meeting in Turkey on the 29th (local time).

Ahead of the meeting, President Zelensky expressed his flexible stance that he could discuss territorial issues in the Donbas region, raising expectations for a successful meeting.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Serbian media: “At the moment, the meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky will not be productive.

Minister Lavrov reiterated previous arguments on the negotiating agenda, such as the demilitization and de-Naziization of Ukraine.

“The main goal is to end the eight-year murder in the Donbas region of Ukraine,” he said.

At the same time, Peskov said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he could stop importing Russian oil, saying, “It could be replaced by the Southeast Asian market.”

In relation to Russia’s recent announcement that it would sell gas to Europe and other countries and accept rubles as payment, he explained, “Currently, we are preparing a method to receive payments in rubles.”

When asked what would happen if Europe refuses to pay the ruble, he said: “We will make a decision about that as we go ahead.”

“There will be no free gas to Europe,” he stressed.

In this regard, the German government recently advised its energy companies not to pay Russia for gas in rubles.

Italy has also announced that it will pay for gas in euros.

Peskov also claimed that a video of Ukrainian soldiers torturing Russian prisoners of war was being circulated on social media recently, and that the Russian government has launched an investigation into the video.
