◇ “I’m just so proud of the round of 16”

At 10:20 pm on the 5th, about 70 people lined up near the fence around the main stage in Gwanghwamun Square, even though there were more than 5 hours left before the match against Brazil.

◇ ‘Extending business’ until the morning of the 6th for restaurants and bars

Restaurants and bars extended business hours and caught the attention of citizens who wanted to take part in cheering for the round of 16.

Hannam Daejeon University and other local university chicken restaurants and beer shops attracted customers by posting posts such as “You can cheer for the match against Brazil” and “Extend business until 6 am” through social networking services (SNS).

◇ Enthusiastic support from the players’ hometowns

The residents of Chuncheon, Gangwon, the hometown of Heung-Min Son and Hee-Chan Hwang, the protagonists of the goals from behind against Portugal, were waiting for the game, expecting them to perform well in the game against Brazil.

On a normal Monday, restaurants and bars in central Gwangju are relatively free, but on this day, they were packed with customers waiting for the morning game until late at night.
