[정치]Decision to disclose information about the couple’s film viewing …”National security and safety issues”

[앵커]

The Administrative Appeals Committee of the Office of the Presidential Secretary did not accept the request of civic groups to disclose information about President Yoon Seok-yeol and first lady Kim Kun-hee’s movie viewing and special activity expenses.

I heard the reason that if information related to the president’s movement was revealed, it could cause problems in terms of national security and safety.

On June 12, President Yoon Seok-yeol and First Lady Kim Kun-hee visited a movie theater.

Watching a movie while eating popcorn was a hot topic among the audience.

After that, the Korea Taxpayers Federation requested the disclosure of information about expenses related to watching movies and receipts.

In addition to special activity expenses after President Yoon’s inauguration, they also demanded to reveal whether the President and his wife paid 4.5 million won for a lunch at a Korean restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul on May 13.

Even during the Moon Jae-in administration, it is an organization that asked to disclose information about special activity expenses and the cost of clothes of the first lady Kim Jung-sook, and I heard the reason that information about tax implementation should be disclosed transparently.

However, the Administrative Appeals Committee of the Office of the President, held for the first time in the new government, rejected the group’s claim.

He was concerned that if receipts related to the president’s movement were revealed, the size of the entourage or the route of movement could be exposed, which could cause problems with national security and safety.

In addition, as the appeal trial of the former president’s special activity legal case disclosing information about costs is underway, it is explained that it is necessary to decide on a unified standard according to the judgment of the highest court.

The Taxpayers Federation previously filed a lawsuit against the Jae-in Blue House of the Moon government for not disclosing information on special activity costs and clothing prices, and was partially ruled in favor in the first trial in February.

Due to the government’s appeal at the time, the second trial is currently underway.

The Taxpayers Federation plans to file a lawsuit again this time.

Along with this, the president’s office also stated in the reason for the appeal of the so-called ‘clothing price suit’ that it could not disclose the data because it did not have information about the protocol expenses of former President Moon and Lady First Kim Jeong -sook.

The first trial of the appeal court will be held on the 15th of next month.
