◀ Anchor ▶

At a convenience store in Seoul, a man indiscriminately attacked a convenience store worker in his 20s.

He said he continued to speak short words at first, and then the worker hit him with fists and palms for responding with short words.

Crime in convenience stores like this is increasing, but the response of the police who are sent to the location was not so reliable.

The report is MBC, reporter Kim Min-hyung.

On the morning of the 24th, a convenience store in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

A middle-aged man in an orange sauna suit and overcoat enters.

I want to pay for the drink, but I throw a paper cup at the clerk.

Feeling threatened, the worker avoided the cashier, but the man brought extra bottles of soda and threw them all on the floor to break them.

When I heard slander while talking to an employee, I became violent to express my anger.

“He continued to speak half-heartedly from the beginning, and seemed to argue a little… I tolerated him and responded with a half-word response.

In the end, the man went into the till counter hitting the employee in the face, and continued to hit the head and face with his fists and palms.

When the worker who was hit covered his head with his hand, he grabbed his hair and continued the attack.

Only 17 attacks were caught on CCTV that injured over 3 weeks.

“Keep getting hit, getting hit in the face, getting hit in the stomach, getting your hair pulled… There’s a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of”

I didn’t even listen when the smaller guests tried to stop me.

“They threw the glass bottle on the floor and beat me to death without mercy. I even punched them in the face.”

When the employee rang the 112 emergency bell at the payment counter to report her, the man calmly left.

However, the police who were sent heard the employee’s statement that “the man was wearing a sauna suit” and left after looking around the convenience store even after checking the CCTV.

I didn’t go to the sauna in the basement of the same building.

“I’ve been a guest almost every day lately. I’ve never been like that.”

About two hours after the police left, the criminal reappeared in the same outfit and took another drink with fierce determination, saying, “Give back the drink you broke after paying.”

It was fortunate that another employee took my place in the meantime.

“It’s scary. Because I have the idea that I can come back at any time.”

The police verify the identity through the credit card company based on the receipt left by the criminal.

When police noted that the initial response was inadequate, they said, “Since we secured the receipt at the scene, we determined it was not an emergency arrest.”
