Among the major regions, Guangdong (6,184) and Chongqing (4,774) decreased by 56 and 471, respectively, but Beijing (3,738) increased by 559.
The number of new infections in Shaanxi (Shaanxi, 1,411), Heilongjiang (1,263), Sichuan (1,051), and Shaanxi (陝西, 1,041) remained in the 1,000 range.
Chinese authorities are trying to ease control by changing the stance of quarantine policy after the ’empty protest’ against ‘Zero Corona’ took place in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, etc. at the end of last month.
Major cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, Tianjin, Shenzhen, and Shanghai have stopped checking for negative PCR tests when using public transportation or entering public places.
In addition, in Beijing and Guangzhou, elderly corona19 infected people, such as pregnant women, were not admitted to quarantine hospitals and were allowed to self-isolate.
