According to the business community on the 30th, the launch ceremony of the Navy’s next generation Aegis destroyer King Jeongjo was held at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan City on July 28th. On the launch day of King Jeongjo, which was designed and built with domestic technology, about 150 people from all walks of life attended, including President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife, Chung Ki-sun, HD Hyundai President, military commanders major, legislators, and staff of the presidential office.
On the day of the launch ceremony and commemorative photo shoot, President Jeong and his wife were with President Yoon and his wife. A Hyundai Heavy Industries official said, “In the shipbuilding industry, it is traditional for the ship owner’s wife to attend the launch ceremony.”
President Jung and his wife got married in 2020, but at the time of the wedding, Chairman Chung Mong-joon only answered, “A healthy woman in Korea” to a reporter’s question, “Who is your daughter-in-law?” In the wedding photos released to the press, Jung’s face was a mosaic.
Born in 1994, raised in an educator’s family, he is known to have received a bachelor’s degree from the Asian Studies Department of Underwood International College (UIC) at Yonsei University and went to Seoul National University’s Graduate School of International Studies.
While at university, he served as a student ambassador for Yonsei University, and also worked as an online PR group for ‘Asan Seowon’, which was created with the will of Hyundai Group founder Chung Ju-young.
The two met through ‘Asan Seowon’ and got married on July 4, 2020 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul. I had a baby last year, a year after we got married.
