A doctor who had tested positive for Covid-19 in Mendoza was released yesterday, less than a week after being diagnosed with the disease.. This is a gynecologist at the Hospital Espaol whose case had generated a particular prevention strategy to find all possible links. The man was discharged after performing two PCR tests and both were negative. All protocols were followed and I left the hospital.
But in addition, all the tests carried out on direct connections at their workplace were negative. I mean, it didn’t infect anyone. In Spain more than 50 analyzes to health professionals and patients. In that group there were asymptomatic people and even some who had some kind of symptom. Neither was diagnosed with the disease.
The only positive link was that of a patient with coronavirus. But they do not rule out that the contagion has been in reverse, that is, that the woman has contracted the virus elsewhere, since she also has a relationship with a Notti worker who is also positive. It all started with that case. The doctor had cared for the woman and she was later diagnosed with Covid-19. As a precaution the gynecologist was tested and was also positive. That is why prevention protocols were started.
Now they expect an important fact. As all the tests carried out on the health professional were negative, from Health they performed serological testing. That is, the analysis to detect antibodies and determine if the man really had the disease or was it a “false positive”. There have already been similar cases in Mendoza and the rest of the country. People sick with Covid have a prolonged healing period, exceeding three weeks. That is why the case of the Spanish doctor is also investigated as a possible false positive case.
In Mendoza, 155 cases of coronavirus have been detected since the pandemic broke out. And 88 people have already been registered. Another 10 died.
