Grieving families of the October 29 disaster expressed regret over the dismissal of arrest warrants for former Yongsan Police Station Chief Lee Im-jae and Song Byeong-ju, former head of Yongsan Police Station’s 112 Situation Section.

A preparatory meeting for the bereaved family council, consisting of 89 bereaved family members of the October 29 disaster, issued a statement today and said, “We regret the decision of the Seoul West District Court to dismiss the arrest warrants for two former police officers. officers, Lee Im-jae and Song Byeong-ju.”

They pointed out that, “Lee Im-jae and Song Byeong-ju are people who can exercise influence within the police,” and noted, “The dismissal judgment that there is no fear of destroying evidence in a situation where the destruction of evidence is within the force.
