A tail that doesn’t know how to hold the bat. Wasim Jaffer suggests changes in India XI

Former Indian player Wasim Jaffer pointed out that India lacked team balance in the first ODI of the South Africa series. He also said that there was no one else to bat after Thakur.

Chasing the target of 250 runs set by South Africa, India were at one point 51 for 4. Later, the performance of Sanchu Samson (86 off 43 balls), Shreyas Iyer (50 off 37 balls) and Thakur (31 off 33 balls) got them close to the target.

“In the batting department, after Shardul, the others are the number 8, 9, 10 and 11 players who are not able to contribute.”

“Playing Shahbaz Ahmed would have solved it. He bowls left arm spin and is a good batsman. Even Deepak Chahar can bat. Both of them will give you sixth and seventh bowling options,” said Wasim Jaffer on the Cric Info Show.
