An Aegis insurance unit must pay the defense of a property manager in a potential class action by a former tenant for retained security deposits, the eleventh circuit held.
In 2017, the tenant, Nichon Roberson, sued Atlanta-based ECI Management LLC for alleged failure to provide outgoing tenants with a list of property damage that justifies the withholding of security deposits.
ECI’s insurance policy with Aegis Electric & Gas International Services Ltd. will cover some relief granted by a state court in Roberson, a group of three U.S. Court of Appeal judges said on Thursday for the eleventh circuit.
