Samsung Galaxy S20 got a new software update that again improves photographic capabilities. Now I wonder if I should buy it.
A few days ago I asked you for advice buying a new smartphone. The comments were mostly helpful, for which I thank everyone who answered me – this is always a different point of view. Today I added another model to the list, because Samsung Galaxy S20 (and the other two flagships) have received a nice software update.
Flagships from the Samsung Galaxy S20 family may not belong to the most successful “galaxies” in the history of the Korean manufacturer, but they are still one of the best Android smartphones. After the new update, it’s even worth considering buying them – they’ve come a long way since its release.
The new version of the software introduces a lot of improvements to the camera. Samsung promises that it has improved the algorithms behind processing the photo after it was taken. The update also brings better quality photo with zoom and video stabilization. These three things are basically the most important in a good photo smartphone.
Do I believe they have actually improved it? Honestly, yes. Software in mobile photography is everything and I can see it after my Note 10 Lite, which after upgrading to OneUI 2.1 began to make great photos in low light, and the portraits also look much better.
I will add that just after the premiere Samsunga Galaxy Note 20, the S20 series can get a new life. Flagships from S Pen are expected to debut with OneUI 2.5 and I’m very curious how the new version of the best Android overlay will work. Samsung’s flagship tempts with regular updates – maybe not for new Android versions, but certainly security patches.
Samsung Galaxy S20 scared me a bit with Exynos, but I think I could live with it – in the end I agree with its problems every day by using Samsunga Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Compact (it’s subjective expression, and I have big hands) dimensions and 120 Hz screen filling the whole front are strong arguments for buying. The camera after the upgrade is even better, so it may be worth trying now.
