Christmas donations in July are now accepted

The annual drive of Senior Services Christmas items is underway in July. Consider donating health, hygiene and home items, as well as stable foods during the month of July.

Donations can be collected from Senior Services 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston-Salem, between 10 and 15 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. They could also be left at the Piedmontese Federal Savings Bank of Kernersville Branch, 505 Pineview Drive, or Clemmons Branch, 3701 Clemmons Road, from 9.00 am to Saturday noon.

Online, Medicare workshop phone

Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem will have an online seminar for people who are 65 years old and those who already have Medicare to learn about the different insurance options available, including “Original Medicare”, Medicare prescription programs, Medicare supplements and plans Medicare Advantage.

The session will be held from 15 to 16:30 on 23 July via access to the computer and telephone.

The session is designed to explain and clarify the Medicare enrollment process and educate participants on how to make smart choices. Qualified consultants will be available to answer general questions.

Social ice cream online to be held

“It’s all about you!” a virtual social ice cream for family caregivers will be held at 1:30 pm on July 30th.

Grab an ice cream sundae, meet other online caregivers, discover the little-known health benefits of this favorite summer treatment, and enjoy some informal conversations and memories.

The first 10 caregivers who sign up and participate will receive a gift certificate from a local ice cream shop.

The deadline for registration is July 27th.

“Medicare 101” online seminars, August 6th

McCall Insurance Services will hold free “Medicare 101” seminars online at 10am and 2pm on August 6th.

To help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, he is temporarily suspending his seminars in person.

McCall Insurance Services will continue to offer telephone, online and virtual meeting options with one of its authorized agents to conduct the meeting.

The seminars explain the Medicare programs and are aimed at anyone who is 65 years old or logged into Medicare. Topics include the basics of Medicare, such as registering for parts A and part B. of Medicare. The sessions will also explain part C and part D.

The seminar is for informational purposes only and no solicitations will be presented.

Registration is mandatory and can be done by calling 336-766-1885 or by sending an email to amy@mccallins.com for details on how to securely connect to the meeting.
