By November this year, agricultural food exports exceeded 8 billion dollars, setting a year-over-year record high, and annual exports are also expected to reach a record high.

The largest annual agri-food exports on record was $8.56 billion last year.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to set a goal of more than 9 billion dollars this year and carry out large-scale marketing in 18 export markets including the United States, China and Japan.

In addition, logistics support for exporters is being strengthened, and in particular, strawberries, a major export item, are being supported so that they can be transported to Southeast Asia every day in cooperation with national airlines.

The export insurance support limit has also been increased from KRW 80 million to KRW 100 million per company, helping to effectively manage the risk of exchange rate fluctuations such as a weak yen.

Yang Joo-pil, director general of food industry policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, “Currently, our agri-food continues to increase in exports thanks to its steady popularity despite difficult conditions.”
