YouTuber and former journalist Alanah Pearce join the cast of Cyberpunk 2077. In a tweet Last night, Pearce, who worked at IGN through 2018, announced that he has the voice and modeled an NPC in the upcoming release of CD Projekt Red.
In a follow-up video, Pearce said she wasn’t allowed to reveal much information about the character or associated research, but could confirm that it would be specific to the Nomad lifestyle. Fittingly, then, you can find her – complete with her two cybernetic arms – spinning around in a junkyard on the outskirts of Night City.
Pearce says she was first contacted by CDPR shortly after leaving IGN. In addition to the dubbing work, which Pearce suggests was quite exhausting, the process of bringing her character to life required her to send her photos to the studio, from which they built the new character.
Far from being a newcomer to the world of voice acting, Pearce has already appeared in Gears 5 and Afterparty.
CD Projekt is also no stranger to filling its science fiction world with familiar faces. In addition to Pearce, fellow YouTuber Jesse Cox will also be an NPC. Elsewhere, even more famous faces have already confirmed they will appear – one cannot forget Keanu Reeves’ significant involvement in the game, and pop star Grimes has also been confirmed as a musician in the game. Given the sheer volume of famous faces that have appeared in Death Stranding, it wouldn’t be surprising if CDPR were attempting a similar feat for their game, so watch out for some more recognizable NPCs.
Alanah’s character is just Nomad, but which one Cyberpunk 2077 lifepath should you choose?
