Argentina beat Mexico 2-0 in the second leg of Group C of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina, driven to the brink by a 1-2 come-from-behind defeat against Saudi Arabia, rose to second place in the group with their first win of the tournament.

Argentina received the ball from Angel Di Maria, and Messi converted the mid-range boot.

He scored the first goal by connecting with a ting, followed by Enso Fernandez’s brilliant right foot that rattled the Mexican net.

As a result, Argentina have won four World Cup finals against Mexico.

After a 0-0 draw with Poland in the first leg, Mexico suffered their first defeat of the tournament and have fallen to the bottom of their group.
