Baker is wanted for four counts of armed robbery with a gun and four counts of aggravated assault with a gun for an incident that occurred on Wednesday. Dunbar is wanted on four counts of armed robbery with a gun.
The Giants released a statement Thursday evening.
“We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with DeAndre. We have no further comments at the moment,” said the press release, obtained by the Kimberly Jones of NFL Network.
The NFL also responded to the incident.
“We are aware of the issue, but we will refuse any comment for the time being,” according to the league statement, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
According to a police report, Baker attended a party at Miramar on Wednesday. A witness stated that an argument ensued at a card table and Baker pointed a gun at the other participants and ordered two other men to take money and valuables from the others. Dunbar was allegedly one of the men helping Baker to take the goods. A witness said that another person wearing a red mask also took valuables under Baker’s direction.
According to the warrant, Baker also asked the person wearing the red mask to shoot someone who had just entered the party. However, no shots were fired.
There are conflicting witness statements on whether Dunbar also had a gun.
The police report said the three men then left with expensive watches and over $ 7,000 in cash. They left in separate vehicles, fleeing in a Mercedes Benz, a Lamborghini and a BMW which, according to witnesses, were pre-positioned for a quick getaway.
Baker was the 30th overall pick in the 2019 draft. Dunbar was acquired by the Seahawks in an exchange with the Washington Redskins in March.
Dunbar spoke to Seattle media in a conference call Thursday morning.
Baker and Dunbar are from Miami, Florida.
