The German automobile brand BMW has changed its logo to support the LGBT community. His picture appeared on the brand’s page in Facebook.
In the posted photo, instead of a gray background, a rainbow flag appeared in the background. In the description of the image, the manufacturer urged network users to respect the company’s decision to change the color in the brand name.
“At BMW we live in diversity. We believe in an open culture in which there is no place for privilege or discrimination by origin, color, nationality, gender, religion, disability or age, ”the publication says.
The company made this decision in honor of the Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, which is annually celebrated in the USA in June. A memorable date was chosen in connection with clashes between members of sexual minorities and police in New York in 1969.
In March, major German automakers Audi and Volkswagen changed their logos, urging society to isolate themselves due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, on the Volkswagen brand name, the letter V separated from the letter W and distanced itself from the top of the ring, and the four intersecting rings of Audi symbols in turn “dispersed” from each other at equal intervals.
