Ricardo Araújo Pereira, a well-known Portuguese comedian, praised the Mayor of Braga during the last program “Governo Sombra”, broadcast this Friday on the SIC television station.
Talking about the measures of deflation and the crisis that could follow in various sectors, from 23:40 (see here), RAP MUSIC gives as an example the measure of extraordinary licenses for terraces decreed by the Chamber of Braga.
“The other day I was watching something on television that seemed smart to me, I believe that in Braga, where restaurants were very concerned about the future,” he said, referring to the protest of about 150 restaurants in Praça do Praça. County.
“[Vi] the mayor saying something clever and unavoidable: assigning extraordinary licenses for esplanades so that the number of restaurants can increase so that people can attend with due distance ”, contextualized the commentator.
“Maybe this is a way, it may not solve all the problems in restaurants, but it is a way to try it,” he added.
It is recalled that, at the end of the demonstration, the businessmen handed the keys to the establishments to Ricardo Rio, in a symbolic act to alert to the “agony” of the sector.
The mayor took the opportunity to announce that the municipality is going to give restaurants the possibility of “extending” their activity to the adjacent streets and squares, through an extraordinary procedure for licensing esplanades. “This will allow to increase the capacity of the establishments and, at the same time, guarantee more security conditions to the customers”, he affirmed.
On the other hand, the municipality will extend until the end of the year the total exemption from fees and licenses for small commercial operators, a measure that will deprive the municipal coffers of around half a million euros.
