Broiler and veterinary stocks are strong due to outbreaks of highly pathogenic AI

With the recent outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) in the Jeonnam region, stock prices of companies involved in broilers and animal medicines rose strongly on the 5th.

On this day, the stock price of Wingip Foods, a poultry processing company, closed at 1,120, up 6.16% from the previous trading day.

Other broiler companies such as Jeongdown (4.02%), Dongwoo Farm to Table (2.00%), and Woorison F&G (1.09%) also closed higher.

Daehan New Pharm (4.85%), Komipharm (4.69%), Junjin Biopharmaceuticals (4.21%), Chesys (3.96%), and animal medicine-related Jeil Bio (3.11%), also rose.

The previous day, the Central Accident Treatment Headquarters for highly pathogenic AI announced that highly pathogenic AI (type H5N1) had occurred in a duck farm in Muan-gun and a laying hen farm in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, respectively.

Separately, the H5 type AI antigen was also detected at a laying hen farm in Hampyeong-gun, and is being checked for high pathogenicity.

On this day, the heavy water headquarters announced that the risk of outbreaks of highly pathogenic AI in some cities and counties in Jeollanam-do has increased, and the scope of preventive killing will be expanded.
