California Coast Tour: Malibu Farms and Malibu Wine Safari
I know. I know what you think. This message is only ten months late, but I’m pretty glad I waited. I have no excuse for why I didn’t post the rest of my trip to California other than the fact that I’ve been pushing back so long that I almost forgot. The good news is that I’m finishing it now, which means I still have a post after that and it’s finished (well, two more if you want me to share our route plan! ) So why am I glad I waited? Well, that gives me something to write and share during these crazy times. Coming back to these photos made me happy, and it was a nice distraction, and I hope it will do the same for you! 🦒
If you are new here last summer, my friend Caitlin and I hiked the California coast together. It was a life-changing experience, and I can’t wait to start again. We started in Lake tahoe, have made our way to Napa Valley, at San Francisco to Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, Pismo, to Los Angelos. It was one of the most incredible trips I have ever experienced, and I still cannot understand how beautiful California is.
After leaving Pismo Beach, we headed to Malibu to spend our afternoon lunch at Malibu Farm, then wine tasting at Malibu Wine Safari! After the last five days of driving and wild things happening to us, we were exhausted and a fun day with animals and wine seemed like the best way to end the long journey!
When we created our itinerary, we knew that Malibu farms should be on the list. This is exactly our atmosphere and the food was fantastic. We got there in the afternoon just in time for lunch before our safari adventure.
The place was lovely, and we could have sat there all day, it was so peaceful. I started with the perfect pick-me-up for the afternoon, an almond milk cappuccino. It tasted as delicious as it seems.
I know it’s weird to see me with blonde hair, I can’t believe it was ten months ago…
The menu changes a lot because the food is so fresh and seasonal, so I can’t wait to go back and try something new! The next time I visit my brother in L.A., I will have him come with me. I ordered the salmon with a kale salad, and it came with potatoes, eggs, tomatoes and green beans. Everything was tasty! Caitlin ordered the zucchini crust pizza, and it was also a big boost.
We walked a bit on the pier after lunch, then headed to Malibu Farms for a fun day!
We signed up for the Giraffe tour, and a big thank you to Malibu wine safaris for the free visit! We had the time of our lives and our guide made us fall in love all the time. I never enjoyed the puns until our safari.
The tour takes just over an hour and a half, and is filled with many fun stops, as well as tasty wine!
The giraffe ride is the most popular on the list because you can meet and feed Stanley! Stanley is a retired Hollywood star, and he lives a much more peaceful life here in Malibu.
I think feeding Stanley lettuce was the highlight of the tour!
You can drink wine with American bison, zebra, llamas, alpacas, Scottish Highland cows, and many more!
Our guide was an absolute comedian! He had all the good jokes and everyone fell in love during our tour. We couldn’t say it was probably his 100th time as a guide, because he had fun with us as if it was his first tour.
At each stop, we tried a new wine. We tried the Sauvignon Blanc, the blend of Red Wine, Chardonnay, Muscat, Pinot Grigio and Rose!
Now it’s a solid wine tasting for!
I can get used to it!
It’s fun because a lot of places are set up as movie scenes, making it the perfect photo! Come see us at cabernet camp 😂
Even the outdoor bathrooms were cute 😂
When the guide put all the jokes aside, I loved how much he knew about the animals. They take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety and some of the staff are veterinary students. It made me so happy to know that they were in the best hands.
The guides will also teach you the right way to feed the animals and how to stay safe, because remember, these are still wild animals and this is their sanctuary.
We had the best time at Malibu Wine Safari! It is a perfect place to drink delicious wine, spend time with animals and relax outside! I can’t wait to go back 😊
After taking a nap and putting on our comfortable clothes, we headed to Hermosa Beach to watch the sunset and drink more wine 😂
It was only a few blocks from my brother’s house, so we knew that was where we wanted to end our evening. I love California, and sitting on the beach watching the dolphins and seals was the top of a perfect day.
We were like little kids practicing our hands on the beach, and the wine made our hands a little harder than I remembered lol.
I will work on the compilation of photos from the rest of our visit to L.A.! I hope you all enjoyed looking at the photos and taking the time to reflect. It affects us all, but we have to be there for each other! xo ♥ ️
