Captain Sanju started off with success; India A beat New Zealand by 7 wickets

Chennai: Sanju V Samson got off to a great start as the captain of the India A team. India beat New Zealand by seven wickets led by Sanju. India restricted New Zealand A to 167 runs and crossed the target with 109 balls and seven wickets to spare. India’s top scorer is Rajat Patidar who remained unbeaten on 45 runs. Sanju remained unbeaten on 29 off 32 balls. India Team leads 1-0 in the three-match ODI series.

Earlier, India A team captain Sanju Samson, who won the toss, sent New Zealand into bat. In the match where Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Sen shone in the bowling, New Zealand scored 167 runs. Kiwis scored only 40.2 overs. Only Michael Rippon, who scored 61 runs, shone for New Zealand. Jos Walker scored 36 runs. Shardul Thakur took four wickets while Kuldeep Sen took three wickets.

In reply, Prithvi Shah, who came out as the opener, scored 17 runs and got out. But Ruturaj Gaekwad showed good batting. He came out with 41 runs off 54 balls. Rahul Tripathi came next and scored 31 runs. In the fourth wicket, Sanju and Patidar took India to the target.

Sanju’s innings included three sixes and a four. Rajat Patidar scored 45 runs including seven fours. Both of them scored 69 runs not out for the fourth wicket.
