Mogadishu: The death toll exceeds 100 in two car bomb explosions in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. More than 300 people were injured. The attack took place in a busy city with important government offices. The incident took place outside the Ministry of Education in the capital, Mogadishu. A vehicle full of explosives was driven away. Two explosions occurred within minutes at a distance of 100 metres.

The police also said that the attackers opened fire. Some of the injured are in a serious condition. An ambulance driver and a first aid worker were injured in the second blast and rushed to the hospital to take those injured in the first blast.

The attack took place in the same location as Somalia’s biggest bombing in the same month in 2017, which killed more than 500 people. Although no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has pointed the finger at the Al-Shabaab group.
