CD PROJEKT RED (hereafter referred to as CDPR) announced in its Q3 2022 earnings report that ‘The Witcher Remake’ which is currently in development will be completed as a single player open world RPG which’ n being driven by a story.
The Witcher Remake is a game that remakes the action RPG ‘The Witcher’ released by CDPR in 2007 with modern technology. It is developed using Unreal Engine 5 by Fool’s Theory, a Polish game studio with veteran developers of The Witcher series.
Since The Witcher is a game that chooses branches and proceeds with quests according to the story in a limited area, if The Witcher Remake is completed in an open world format as announced by CDPR, a game with more freedom and unique fun can be created .
In particular, CDPR has had great success with the open world action RPG ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’, so if The Witcher Remake shows a similar level of perfection, it will not stop at a simple remake and will can receive good reviews.
However, CDPR did not reveal more details about The Witcher Remake this time, so only time will tell if it will actually be a good game.
