A citizen of Russia became infected with a coronavirus in Alma-Ata. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Dias Ahmetsharip in his video message. This entry was posted on the agency’s page in Facebook.
According to Akhmetsharip, a Russian born in 1979 arrived in Kazakhstan from Moscow on March 15. He was quarantined in a hospital.
From March 16 to April 15, a state of emergency was declared in Kazakhstan in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Officials are prohibited from traveling abroad, places of mass crowding, for example, theaters and cinemas, are closed, other events are prohibited.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia 147 cases of infection were recorded. Most of the infected are in Moscow. Many Russian regions introduced high alert mode due to the spread of infection.
According to recent data, more than 218.6 thousand people have become infected with the coronavirus in the world, more than 8.8 thousand have died, and 84.1 thousand have recovered. The outbreak began in late December 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
