[마이데일리 = 윤욱재 기자] SSG’s Choo Shin-soo ‘Chu Choo Train’ (40) will be on the KBO League stage again next year.

SSG Landers officially announced on the 5th, “We have signed a renewal contract with Choo Shin-soo for an annual salary of 1.7 billion won for the 2023 season.”

Choo Shin-soo, who played an active role as the team’s top hitter this season and led SSG’s first ‘Wire-to-Wire’ overall championship in the KBO League, decided to extend his active duty next year.

Choo Shin-soo agreed with the club to cut the annual salary (2.7 billion won) that he had maintained since the first year of joining the club and the younger players in consideration of the league’s salary cap system KBO, which will be applied from next season. .

Choo Shin-soo overcame rehab from elbow surgery earlier this season and posted a .259 batting average, 106 hits, 16 home runs, an on-base percentage of .382 (7th in the league), and an OPS of .812 in 112 games in the regular season. With 0.414, he showed active attacking power and experienced his first championship in his life.

As a result, Choo Shin-soo, who has been playing for three years at SSG, is expected to play a central role as the team’s leader next season with a serious attitude towards baseball and thorough self-control.

Meanwhile, Choo Shin-soo plans to join the team next year according to the spring camp schedule in Florida, USA.
