Starting this week, it will be possible to purchase self-test kits at 7 convenience store chains.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Director Kang-Rip Kim) announced that the sales of self-test kits will be carried out sequentially at about 51,400 affiliated stores nationwide of seven convenience store chains designated as COVID-19 self-test kit sellers.
Seven convenience store chains will start selling CU and GS25 (15th) booty self-test kits to Ministop, 7-Eleven, Storyway, E-Mart 24, Seaspace, CU, and GS25.
Self-test kits can be purchased from 7-Eleven from the 16th, Ministop and E-Mart 24 from the 17th, and Storyway and Seaspace from the 18th.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to supply self-test kits for a total of 6.7 million people to convenience store chains by the 18th, and will manage to supply them consistently and evenly every day to retailers nationwide.
However, the sales start date for each merchant nationwide may vary depending on the individual packaging of large-capacity products and the delivery situation.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to supply a total of 34 million doses to pharmacies and convenience stores by adding 4 million new domestic approvals to the private supply of 30 million self-test kits originally planned for February.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said, “We will actively cooperate with convenience store chains so that individuals can supply enough self-test kits for COVID-19 that can be purchased.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety approved two additional self-test kits on the 15th. As a result, 8 self-test kits from 7 companies are now available on the market.
