Coup at French Open; World No. 2 Medvedev and No. 4 Sitsipas out French Open 2022: Medvedev, Tsitsipas shown out

Paris: Massive coups at the French Open. In the men’s event, world number two Danil Medvedev lost to world number four Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Medvedev lost to 20th seed Marin Cilic 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals, while Danish teenager Holger Rune defeated Citscipas 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Citsipass is the 2021 runner-up. Silich will face Russia’s Andrei Rublev in the quarterfinals.

Medvedev, who played in the quarterfinals at the same venue last year, however, conceded defeat without scoring a single break point. This is the first time a Danish player has reached the quarterfinals of the French Open.
