CLEVELAND, Ohio – To commemorate their shared love of travel, Cleveland couple Mary Wills and Mac Kelly took their engagement photos in a place they know well: Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The photos show Wills and Kelly at various locations in the airport, posing in front of murals, check-in areas and terminals. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the couple had difficulty organizing the photo session.
“When we were there, it was completely different from what we were used to; Cleveland Airport is usually full every hour I am there, ”said Wills. “It was a ghost town … Strangely enough, it was convenient for our photos, but it was definitely not the airport we are used to.”
Wills and Kelly’s relationship started in 2016 when the two first met at Le Petit Triangle cafe in Cleveland, said Wills. Both went to Case Western Reserve University for graduate studies; currently, Wills is a social worker and Kelly is a lawyer, said Wills.
The couple, who are planning to marry later this year, have traveled extensively across the country and the world together, said Wills; their favorite adventures include hiking in Alaska, Arkansas and Puerto Rico.
“We visited 49 states together. We want to make our 50th honeymoon in Hawaii, “said Wills. “Our honeymoon, we don’t know when we’re going to go. Hawaii is currently closed to visitors, and it is not necessarily safe to go there. It sort of depends on how the pandemic unfolds. It’s in the air right now. “
Beyond Hawaii, Wills and Kelly already have other trips in mind, including trips to the countries of Georgia, Japan and Thailand.
“The world is so big, there are a ton of places we want to go,” said Wills.
