DHHL extends mortgage deferrals until the end of the year

0

The Hawaiian Homes Commission has extended the deferral of mortgage loan payments for all Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Direct Loans and Department of Hawaiian Home Lands loans for an additional three-month period, effective from the October 2020 payment.

Commissioners approved the extension at the committee’s September meeting.

Deferral is an automatically registered referral. If a borrower decides to continue making payments during the deferral period, DHHL will process the payment as in the normal course of business. As with the initial deferral, interest will continue to accrue during the deferral period; however, no late fees will be added.

Payment billing will resume in January 2021.
