Dirk Geiger takes pole position at Hockenheimring in Euro Moto Supersport final

Dirk Geiger holds a 27-point lead in the Euro Moto Supersport standings heading into the final race weekend at the Hockenheimring, securing pole position during qualifying with a time of 1:27.153 on his Team Apreco Yamaha R9. Geiger enters the season finale aiming to close out a dominant run that includes the last four race victories.

Qualifying at the Hockenheimring established a clear front-running order as Geiger set the pace early. Yamaha rider Lennox Lehmann sits third in the standings with 176 points, followed by MV Agusta rider Luca Göttlicher in fourth with 122 points and Honda rider Marvin Siebdrath in fifth with 108 points.

Daniel Blin, riding a Ducati for Automarket AF-Racing, emerged as Geiger’s closest challenger in the championship battle. Blin stayed over a second off the pace with two minutes remaining in the qualifying session before managing a personal best on his final attempt. That late lap reduced the gap to Geiger to eight tenths of a second, securing the Polish rider a spot on the front row of the grid alongside Geiger and Luca Göttlicher, who slotted into the grid between them.

Heading into the final races, Geiger holds 243 points compared to Blin’s 216 points. While Blin has established himself as a regular podium finisher this season, Geiger’s streak of four wins widened the points cushion.

“We’ll do everything in our power to finish this season with a good result,” Daniel Blin stated regarding the championship finale.

Spotted relaxing outside the Apreco pit roughly two hours before Saturday’s opening race, Geiger expressed indifference toward the specific lap times of his competitors.

“To be honest, I’m not really that interested in the lap times the lads behind me are setting, including Daniel Blin,” Geiger said. “I’m just focusing on myself and doing my thing. And whether I clinch the title on Saturday or Sunday doesn’t matter – the main thing is that I do it.”
