Even ‘cannabis’ was discovered 12 years ago
Trial only 3 times, avoid prison sentence

It was noted that composer and businessman Kim Min-soo (working name: Don Spike, 45), who was arrested on drug charges, has a criminal record in the past.

His previous drug convictions include smoking marijuana. He managed to escape prison sentences on three cases, including the first on appeal in 2010.

According to TV Chosun and CBS Nocut News on the 1st, Don Spike was sentenced to a total of two sentences in 2010 for violating the Narcotics Control Act (cannabis).

Between 2008 and 2009, it was found that there were 20 acts of selling and smoking marijuana.

Kim was handed over for trial on charges of buying cannabis from a foreigner in Itaewon, Seoul around March 2009, giving cannabis to an acquaintance, and smoking cannabis in his Seocho-gu studio and nearby playground.

In April 2010, the first trial court sentenced Kim to 10 months in prison and 2 years of probation and ordered 80 hours of community service. Don Spike, who appealed, was sentenced to a fine of 5 million won on August 26 of the same year.

In October of the same year, he was sentenced to a year in prison and two years of probation on a separate drug charge. He was found to have bought cannabis in 2008 and 2009, and smoked cannabis in total seven times in the studio with his acquaintance.

About six months later, Kim made her face known to the public through the MBC entertainment program ‘I am a Singer’.

Kim emerged as a guest member of the band Position in 1996, but was not active in broadcasting. Kim, who worked as a producer for singer Kim Bum-soo in ‘I Am a Singer’, which aired in May 2011, often appeared in various entertainment programs.

In particular, he gained popularity through the mukbang meat dish on TV, and opened a restaurant business in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and opened an associated YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, according to the police, Don Spike was arrested on suspicion of drug use in a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul around 8 pm on the 26th of last month.

While investigating another suspect arrested on drug charges, police arrested Don Spike after receiving a statement that he had used methamphetamine several times.

The court issued an arrest warrant for Don Spike, saying, “There is a risk of escape.”

After the warrant review, Don Spike said, “I recently started taking drugs. I will participate faithfully in the investigation and receive a sweet price for my crimes.”
