Excuse me; Which college? Fifty five year old student for regular LLB course – Kottayam news

Kottayam ∙ ‘Excuse Me; Which college? ‘ Now the answer has been given to the search made by the local people when they saw Resi Mathew, who has passed the age of 55. Resi is going to study for the ‘bar exam’. He joined regular Rec LLB course along with teenagers at Manjeswaram campus of Kannur University. Resi Mathew (55) arrives at the campus in Etumanur Punnathura West Kannanthara Mullakuzhi after securing the first rank in the Kannur University Law Entrance Examination.

Saying ‘Education is the greatest wealth’, Resi does not own a cent of land yet. Lives on rent with 2 children. I left the rented house as I was going to study for LLB. The children were placed in the younger sister’s house. Resi belongs to a traditional farm worker family. In 1984-86, Resi did his undergraduate studies at Pala Alphonsa College. Unable to complete the study. There was no progression between life spans. The family supported themselves by doing wage labour. Later, after 32 years, in 2018, he passed his undergraduate degree through the Literacy Mission equivalence course. At the age of 52, Alphonsa College made history by enrolling in regular classes for graduation. She is now the oldest ‘student’ on campus for law studies. Passed Kannur University Law Entrance Examination. Former Vice Chancellor of MG University and Director of Manjeswaram Campus, Dr. Sheena Shukur said.

The money for the train tickets and other things was paid by Sister Therese Madukukuzhi, the former principal of Pala Alphonsa College, Resik, which was having financial difficulties.

The children are Anjali who has passed civil engineering diploma and Ashish who is a BBA student.
