Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to win today’s match. But God accepted the prayers of both teams. SRH ended the innings at 163, following KKR’s target of 163. Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat, with Loki Ferguson leading the way in the Super Over.

Ferguson, who took three wickets for just 15 runs in four overs, bowled Warner and Samad clean in the super over to give Hyderabad a two-run lead.

David Warner (47 off 33 balls), Johnny Bairstow (36 off 28 balls) and Kane Williamson (29 off 19 balls) were the main contributors for Hyderabad. Abdul Samad scored 23 off 15 balls at the tail end but the score was limited to 163.

Earlier, Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl Kolkata’s performance confirmed the decision of captain Warner. Rahul Tripathi and Shubhman Gill added 48 runs for the loss of wickets in the opening over. Those who came after did not perform well enough to give the team a big score. However, in the final overs, Ian Morgan and Dinesh Karthik put on 150 runs for the second wicket. Karthik scored 24 off 14 balls. Morgan hit 34 off 23 balls. Basil took two wickets for 46 runs in four overs for Hyderabad. Natarajan took two wickets for 40 runs. Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.
