The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Tuesday night the first death from coronavirus in the province of Córdoba.
This is an 89-year-old woman in poor health, with heart complications and diabetes, who had close contact with her daughter who lives in England.
The woman lived in La Cumbre and is one of the three fatal victims confirmed on the day. Although he died last Sunday at the Domingo Funes Hospital in the mountain town, the positive diagnosis of coronavirus was reported on Tuesday, making it the first death in the province.
The mayor, Pablo Alicio, specified Chain 3 that the fatal victim began with symptoms last Friday, at first she was attended by a private emergency service and then was referred to the hospital, where she finally died on Sunday.
“The daughter of the fatal victim arrived on March 13 from England. Although the controls were from March 16, the woman informed us that she had completed the quarantine and that she had contact only with the mother, brother, daughter-in-law and a caretaker for the older lady, “he explained.
He explained that since Monday, personnel from the Ministry of Health carry out the epidemiological investigation before the possibility of contagion through close contact and that they are waiting for the results.
“They activated the protocol to carry out the swabbing of the family, people from the hospital and the private emergency team. There are many cases involved because there was a person who worked in a hotel until March 17,” the mayor revealed.
