Florida does not renew the moratorium on evictions

YOU LOVE ME.- After a six-month moratorium on evictions and foreclosures in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he will not renew the state order that prevented them during the coronavirus pandemic.

The governor announced in a statement authorizing “Executive Ordinance 20-211 on Foreclosure and Eviction from the State” to expire at midnight on Thursday, October 1 “to avoid confusion” with the new federal ordinance issued by the Centers for control and prevention of diseases that block some evictions.

To apply this new order, tenants must file a specific declaration to their landlords stating, among other things, that they have suffered a “substantial loss of family income”.
