fuel price increases begin; Indians worried: Jaishankar – Jaishankar

New York – Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said Indians are worried about fuel prices. “The rise in the price of fuel is tearing us apart. This is the biggest concern. Jaishankar also said that our per capita economy is only 2000 dollars. Jaishankar said this in a meeting with US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

Jaishankar shared his concern at a time when the G7 countries are moving to set a price cap for Russian fuel. Blinken told a joint news conference that they were working with partners and that oil revenues should not fuel the war against Ukraine. Blinken also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin that this is not the time for war.

The United States and European countries are trying to set a price cap. If the price cap comes into effect as part of the sanctions, the availability of Russian fuel in the global market will decrease. This is the move of the G7 countries to eliminate Russia’s income. Jaishankar also held talks with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon.
