Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon attended a question from the National Assembly today and said he was considering abolishing the anti-indictment penalty for stalking offenses and lowering the legal age of young people.

Minister Han said today, “Stalking was not a crime just a year ago, but social perception is changing recently.”

“To be alert and to formulate intensive countermeasures, the Ministry of Justice will draw up a legislative bill to eliminate the crime of unintentional punishment,” he said.

He added, “It is also part of that effort to trace the location of the criminal,” adding, “The state will do its best to protect the victim.

To the point that there is a social request to lower the age as the number of speedy youths has now reached 35,000, he replied, “It is clear that the proportion of speedy youths in violent crimes and heinous crimes is increasing.”

Next, he explained that the ruling and opposition presidential candidates had made their promises in the last presidential election regarding lowering the age, and said, “The Ministry of Justice has formed and implemented a task force, and we are preparing hard by a month October.”

Minister Han also said, “I know there are concerns about the downgrading in some areas, and it is necessary to add to the system, such as not stopping to reform itself, such as determining and varying the types when considering the concerns. ”
