Hot Stock: Nintendo gains, reports 10-year contract with Microsoft in popular games | Reuters

[TOKYO 7fed Reuters]-Nintendo turned positive in the second half. The CEO of Microsoft’s games division tweeted that he had agreed to a 10-year contract to provide the popular game software “CALL OF DUTY” to the Nintendo platform, and it became a clue.

Toyo Securities Senior Analyst Hideki Yasuda said, “(The game is) popular mainly in the United States. (Nintendo’s game console) is the first to be released on the Switch, and it is expected to contribute to outbound royalty income.

Microsoft announced in January that it would buy Activision Blizzard, owner of popular titles like “Call of Duty,” for about $69 billion. In the gaming world, there was concern that competition could be stifled if rivals were unable to offer Activision’s popular games.

Nintendo’s stock price turned positive at one point, rising 1.4%, but has been sluggish since then. “Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision is not complete, and will take some time to consider,” Mr Yasuda said.
