Long fight against Corona: Governor Ron DeSantis at a press conference in May
Police dismissed at least a dozen parties attended by Florida State University students over the weekend. The party continues in other American universities and colleges.
AFlorida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee continues to celebrate despite Corona. Police dismissed at least a dozen parties last weekend attended by college students. During a celebration in close proximity to the FSU campus, officials met with more than 1,000 students. About 700 cars blocked the roads leading to the student housing complex.
Since the beginning of the semester in early August, the administration of the university, which is one of the best public universities in the United States, has recorded nearly 1,500 infections from Covid-19. In the week of September 20 alone, more than 50 infections with the virus were detected in about 2,000 students tested. University president John Thrasher had repeatedly threatened the participants of the forced expatriation party.
The party continues in other American universities and colleges. At the University of Connecticut, a few dozen students had to leave the dorms after secret celebrations. At Providence College in Rhode Island, nearly 20 students were temporarily excluded for “selfish behavior” after deliberately ignoring pandemic regulations. On Wednesday, US health authorities reported about 7.4 million people infected with Covid-19, including more and more young people.
