Jeddah: The Council of Health Insurance has announced that visitors to Saudi Arabia will receive up to 100,000 riyals in emergency insurance. Women can get insurance coverage up to a maximum of 5,000 riyals during the policy term for pregnancy treatment and emergency maternity expenses. Visitor visa holders can apply for insurance through the Injaz platform by visiting the website of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The council said the visitor should also apply for a new insurance policy when requesting an extension of the visa after it expires. The status of visitor visa holders who have completed the insurance policy will be ‘Insured Visitor’ in the retention app. However, if the status means ‘uninsured visitor’, it means that the beneficiary is an out-of-country visitor who does not have effective insurance and will be treated as an unprotected visitor, officials said.
