Reports have emerged that the family home of Iranian Elnaz Carevi, who participated in the 2022 International Sports Climbing Confederation (IFSC) Asian Championships held in Seoul without a hijab, has been demolished.

According to some Iranian media on the 4th, the Iranian authorities demolished the family home of the player Rekhabi in the northwestern province of Janjan. The media also released a video showing the demolished Rekavi family home and the scattered medals Rekavi won.

Regarding the forceful demolition of the Rekavi family’s house, the Iranian media said, “The police forcefully demolished the house, and Rekavi’s brother was fined about 5,000 dollars (about 6.5 million Korean won).” I was bullied mercilessly.”

Rekabi previously participated without wearing a hijab in the IFSC Asian Championships held at Hangang Park in Jamwon, Seoul last October. At the time, hijab protests were expanding in Iran, so Rekavi emerged as the hero of the hijab protesters.

However, after returning to Korea, Rekavi explained in an interview with Iranian state television that it was not intentional, saying, “I was in a hurry to go to the game and accidentally I wasn’t wearing a hijab.”
