Iron Man VR developers Camouflaj has revealed multiple details of the superhero game. Via the PlayStation Blog, the company shares details about the length of the game and Tony Stark’s abilities, among other things.
Iron Man VR will be released exclusively on PlayStation VR this Friday. Camouflaj’s Ryan Payton will bring out some extra details about the game before it comes out via the PlayStation Blog.
Iron Man VR has gotten a lot longer than the developers initially expected. “We thought the campaign would be around 4-5 hours, but looking at our latest playtest data, surprisingly, we see that the average playtime is about twice as much!” Says Payton. According to the developer, the game will also be a meaningful story starring Tony Stark. “As a PlayStation VR fan, I know many other PlayStation VR fans want big VR-only games, not just demos or short experiences. That’s why we created Marvel’s Iron Man VR as a robust PlayStation VR exclusive Iron Man action game. ”
The new superhero game will take place in Shanghai and on the SHIELD Helicarrier. “Our most ambitious location, Shanhai, gives players the feeling of flying through huge buildings.” In addition to Shanghai, you can also explore the inside and outside of the SHIELD Helicarrier in Iron Man VR. Another notable location in the game is the Stak facility. “Despite the compact space, this location is a perfect place to meet our combat challenges.”
Several combat mechanics are also discussed on the blog. For example, you will be able to use a boost more often in the game than in the demo. Then you have Payton’s favorite mechanic himself, the Rocket Punch: “I can’t get enough of killing enemies with a one-two-three-hit combo thanks to a Repulsor Blast or auxiliary weapon.” In addition to the Rocket Punch, the game also has a Ground Pound that attacks the enemies below you with enormous power. Finally, the Unibeam, to shoot enemies from further afield.
