Kanam Rajendran was re-elected as CPI State Secretary. Kanam becomes secretary of state for the third consecutive time. Kanam was unanimously elected. Meanwhile, after C. Divakaran, KE Ismail was also expelled from the state council as he crossed the age limit. Peerumedu MLA Vazhur Soman is also not in the state council.
