Kia announced on the 25th that it would unveil a full change to the Niro. The new Niro features an exterior that harmonizes details with a high-tech and aerodynamic design. Inside, a wide display and a dial-type electronic transmission (SBW) are applied. It will be released as a hybrid in the first quarter of 2022 and an electric vehicle in the first half of 2022.
The front part of the new Niro created a unique atmosphere by extending Kia’s signature tiger face design from the bonnet to the fenders. The cladding that visually connects the front and the side with the daytime running lights and wheel arches in the shape of a heartbeat has been applied. The side part emphasized the volume with character lines.
The boomerang-shaped LED rear lamps are integrated with the C-pillar. In particular, the C-pillar was designed with air cloudiness and resistance in mind. The rear part expresses a modern image with a three-dimensional molded license plate periphery and a wide tailgate. It is equipped with a reflector and a skid plate in the shape of a heartbeat.
The new Niro electric car differentiated it from the hybrid model by inserting a hexagonal three-dimensional pattern into the two-tone grille that combines matte and glossy. The charging port is placed in the center of the front part. In the interior, a digital instrument panel and a wide display connected to one display and a dial electronic transmission (SBW) were applied.
Ambient light, touch-type infotainment/air conditioning switching control system, and eco-friendly CFM (color, material, finish) were used. The frequently touched parts are finished with various eco-friendly materials. For the interior color, a pleasant atmosphere was created by newly applying gray-based charcoal color and green-based charcoal color.
