China’s biggest portal, Baidu Netizens, covers Korea’s top 16

On the 3rd, news of advancing to the round of 16 in Korea is pouring in on Chinese media and social networking services (SNS). On Baidu, China’s largest portal site, the Korea-Portugal match also rose to the top of the search terms.
Many Chinese people congratulate Korea for advancing to the round of 16, but on the contrary, there are also quite a few voices who envy or despise it. In particular, there are many who insist on installing games. One netizen said, “I can’t understand the process of setting a World Cup game.” There was also an opinion that “Portugal could have scored a goal, but not intentionally.” There were also comments such as “It was intentional that Ronaldo assisted,” “This World Cup has too many fakes,” and “Korea and Japan, who have a lot of money, bought the round of 16 with money.”
Another netizen said, “Korea advanced to the round of 16 because they ate Chinese kimchi, so thank China.”
Meanwhile, early in the morning of the same day, the Korean national football team won the Qatar World Cup group stage in the 3rd final match thanks to a revolutionary goal by Hwa Hee-chan (Wolverhampton), winning a come-from 2- 1 – behind a win and reaching the round of 16.
Korea will battle Brazil, the favorite for the championship, for tickets to the quarter-finals at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, at 4:00am on the 6th.
