KOSPI to step up on individual buying… 2707.02 closed

According to the Korea Exchange on the 18th, the KOSPI finished trading at 2,707.02, up 12.51 points (0.46%) from the previous trading day. On that day, the index continued to rise and fall after starting at 2,695.64, up 1.13 points (0.04%) from the battlefield.

In the KOSPI, individuals alone net bought 134 billion won. Foreigners and institutions net sold 102.4 billion won and 12.8 billion won, respectively. In program trading, arbitrage trading net sold KRW 4.2 billion and non-arbitrage transaction net sold KRW 66.2 billion, showing a total selling advantage of KRW 70.5 billion.

The KOSPI transaction amount recorded 11.26 trillion won, down 5.31% from the previous trading day (11.90 trillion won). The average daily trading value in the previous month was 10.95 trillion won.

Stocks with the highest market caps fluctuated. Samsung Electronics (005930), the blacksmith, finished trading at 7,700 won, down 500 won (0.70%) from the previous trading day. SK hynix (000660) (-) recorded a flat record.

LG Energy Solutions (373220) (1.60%) rose, but failed to regain the second place by market cap.

NAVER (035420) (-) remained flat, while Kakao (035720) (1.88%) rose.

Samsung Biologics (207940) (1.60%) and Celltrion (068270) (0.54%) rose.

LG Chem (051910) (3.95%) rose while Samsung SDI (006400) (-0.79%) fell.

Hyundai Motor Company (005380) (1.48%) closed up, while Kia (000270) (-0.55%) closed down.

By industry, textile and apparel (3.02%), transportation and warehouse (2.41%), and insurance (1.63%) rose. On the other hand, the electricity and gas industry (-0.56%) and electricity and electronics (-0.17%) fell.

The KOSDAQ recorded 922.96, up 8.83 points (0.97%) from the previous trading day. Foreigners and institutions net bought 65.7 billion won and 30.6 billion won, respectively, and individuals net sold 48.3 billion won. The KOSDAQ transaction amount recorded KRW 8.281.5 trillion, down from the previous trading day (KRW 9,832.7 billion).

Park Gwang-nam, a researcher at Mirae Asset Securities, said, “The market was mixed on that day.

“The KOSPI was weak due to profit taking, but it turned upward due to cutbacks by institutional and foreign investors during the day,” he explained.

Meanwhile, while investor deposits and CMA balances increased, credit loan balances decreased.

According to the Financial Investment Association, as of the 17th, investor deposits increased by 0.15% from the previous trading day to 61.638 trillion won. The credit loan balance decreased 0.33% from the previous trading day to KRW 21,475.2 billion, and the CMA balance increased by 0.86% to KRW 65,477.2 billion, respectively.
