Kuwait spends 28.5 million dinars every year on waste collection and treatment

Kuwait City | While the countries of the world are rushing to ensure maximum benefit through the process of recycling waste, Kuwait is said to be not interested in this even in the light of technological development. The country’s loss is getting bigger. The disposal or burning of waste also causes serious problems for the environment and human health.

According to the Environmental Authority report, Kuwait spends 28.5 million dinars every year on waste collection and treatment. 7,500 tonnes of waste is collected every day. 50% of the country’s waste is left in landfill sites. The report also states that good revenue sources that could have benefited if the implementation had been better are not being used. The annual volume of domestic waste in the country is estimated at 1.4 million tonnes.
