Both players were named on the Pitcher of the Month list announced by Major League Baseball on the 4th (Korea time). Manoa is the first and Darvish is the second since August 2020.
Manoa became Toronto’s first Pitcher of the Month award since Robbie Ray received the award last August.

Darvish became the first San Diego pitcher to win this award since Jake Phoebe in 2007.
In September, he appeared six times in a month, posting a 5-1 record with a 1.85 ERA. He pitched 39 innings and allowed just eight walks and 44 hits during that time.
In the away game against the Seattle Mariners on September 13, he recorded 8 innings of 2 hits and 7 strikeouts and was selected as player of the week.
